Who We Are

Welcome to the Canadian Heritage of Quebec!

The Canadian Heritage of Quebec is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the preservation of lands and buildings of beauty or historic interest in the Province of Quebec.

It was incorporated in 1960 by a group of concerned individuals from Montreal led by Jack Molson. Its activities are funded primarily through private foundations, but also CHQ receives financial support from the Quebec Government for specific restoration projects on properties it has classified.

We currently have a network of 20 properties and buildings, including two on the Island of Montreal, and several along the St. Lawrence River and Gaspé Peninsula. Most of these properties are available to visit or rent for summer holidays.
